  • It helped me to highlight some of the skills I was already using and gave me ideas on how to work with different types of clients. Very informative and easy to listen to, I had a great time and learnt a lot!
Emma Blackborough, Carat Worker, Exeter Drugs Project.
  • The extensive and thorough analysis of theory (related to practice) and references to other literary sources. Examples of 'tricks' and questions to assist with blockages. Opportunities to practice skills at own pace. Thank you.
Mike Soper, Harm Reduction Coordinator, Wiltshire County Council Services for Young People.
  • Learning different techniques for M.I. to be able to apply to young people with problematic drug/ alcohol use. The training was excellent at raising awareness of psychological theory linked to explaining behaviours, how individuals make change and techniques or assisting/ facilitating this change. The training provided opportunities to consolidate/ and practice new skills.
Jamie Pearce. Project Social Worker. Drugs & Young People Project.
  • Depth of information to build understanding. Practical activities and skills development will enable me to use this in a variety of settings. This is one of the most interesting and useful training courses I have attended. Challenging, full of practical skills and ideas, with a strong foundation in the reality of being human.
Zoe Pither, Mentoring & Tutoring Coordinator, University of Bristol
  • Each aspect had points to inspire, work on and challenge - understanding of values and beliefs; time to try it out and discuss it with others in the group; building confidence with the material. Very useful summary before start of day 2.
  • Resistance strategies. Discussion regarding dependence/addiction. Shadow society and background to M.I. Opportunity to practise skills. Values/beliefs. Background explanation to highlight why/how instinct plays a part. All of it!! So much to learn, but fantastic background explanation about why and how. Thank you . A legend!
  • Phil was very engaging. I feel able to recognise a readiness for change, identify a discrepancy and use this to motivate change. The resistance strategies were really useful. Excellent course. Thank you.
