  • Everything! The use of real life examples alongside the theory was helpful in translating theory to action. I can see this approach being very useful in practice.
Carly Jones, Project Manager, PSALT. March 2017
  • The informed style and look at statistics, and looking at ways to find a client's resources and strengths - so helpful; and the modes of questioning and goal setting. It was so useful and interesting, and will absolutely inform my work from now on - extremely thought provoking.
Kate Evans, Support Worker, Missing Link. March 2017
  • Lots of helpful tools to use in the future, recommended reading and practical practice in partners. Having a booklet to refer to! Very helpful and valuable skills to have. Phil obviously has a lot of knowledge and experience which helps to contextualise the information given.
Juliette Simmons, Substance Misuse Worker, Elizabeth Fry Charity. March 2017
  • Clear structure. Excellent pack. Relaxed but focused trainer. Good balance between deeper exploration of theories and practical examples. We weren't overwhelmed with material but pushed enough to the extent that we could use this theory straight away and get better with practice. This was an excellent course which will definitely impact on my work in a very positive way. The trainer was supportive to the process and made it a really useful experience in itself as well as a 'work' tool to use. Thank you.
Kaz Williams, Personal Safety Project Officer, Youth & Play Services.
  • Really exploring an approach that wants to understand the client and use their skills and ideas for change. Practical skills to use confidently. Found everything useful and interesting. Really valuable.
    Emma Ekins, HAWKS
  • All of it was useful. I have really learnt to draw out client’s strengths and resources that they already have, rather than focusing on just ‘the issue’. Absolutely brilliant and refreshing way of looking at things!
