  • The information around alcohol and its affects – as knowledge to improve awareness.Excellent tools to aid structured support and to give confidence around doing interventions to help/support our clients to make changes. An excellent 2 days – even when very busy at work and therefore reluctant to have time out of the office. Thank you.
  • Learning how to use the brief intervention tool within my work setting. Working with a multidisciplinary group – allowing me to consider different options and solutions to the same question. Very stimulating and open course. All opinions and ideas treated respectfully by Rowan. Good mix of discussion/groupwork. Relaxed atmosphere enabled open discussion. Rowan is a very good facilitator – kept my interest!
  • Very useful:- specific information on classifications of drinking behaviours, short and long term memory implications and units/measures and consumption guidelines. Really useful to know that brief intervention is effective – gives me confidence to implement. Very interesting and helpful course. Varied delivery and range of learning skills covered.Very enjoyable. Thank You.
  • Excellent course, relevant to my work, tools to enable you to assess and refer on to other professionals, if necessary, or to carry out brief interventions with confidence.
  • The entire day was most helpful. Lots of my inner fears about approaching service users have been allayed. Particularly useful was learning about the alcohol units for different drinks and having a chance to practice using the AUDIT screening tool.
  • I can honestly say in the 12 years I’ve worked for the council this has been the most informative, engaging training session. Huge amount of information from a very knowledgeable trainer.
