Effectively identify and manage adult safeguarding issues in line with good practice and legislative changes in England.

This is a 1/2 day course delivered online (for individuals).

Drawing on changes brought about by the Care Act 2014, develop your understanding of the categories of abuse and possible indicators, and identify how to respond to safeguarding disclosures and concerns.

Participants will have opportunities to consider why clients who face increased risk might not report abuse, good practice in preventing abuse and neglect and new ideas for improved multi agency working.

This course covers the Care Act 2014 (for England) and Mental Capacity Act 2005 (amended 2019) (for England & Wales)

    This training is available for individual staff members on our open programme in Bristol (you come to us) and for teams in-house (we come to you).

    Also currently available (online for teams).

    To enable staff to effectively identify and manage adult safeguarding issues in line with good practice and in light of the new legislative changes in England

    Course objectives

    By the end of the course participants will have had opportunities to:

    • Understand what is meant by Safeguarding and their role in safeguarding adults with care and support needs
    • Discuss how to identify an adult in need of Safeguarding and take action
    • Explore the issues around Making Safeguarding Personal
    • Plan a strategy for dealing with disclosure
