Build confidence to defuse and de-escalate challenging and aggressive situations, using effective communication techniques.

This is a 1 day in-house course (we come to you).

A practical stepped approach to containing and responding safely and confidently to incidents in the workplace.

Understand what’s behind the behaviour and develop essential communication techniques and practical strategies to build confidence to defuse and de-escalate challenging and aggressive situations.

    This training is available for individual staff members on our open programme in Bristol (you come to us).

    Also currently available (online for individuals) and (online for teams).

    Course aims

    To develop confidence understanding and skills in dealing with difficult & aggressive behaviour in work related settings

    Course objectives

    By the end of the course participants will have had opportunities to:

    • Increase their understanding of aggression, its causes and context
    • Explore their responses to anger and aggression
    • Examine what happens in challenging or aggressive incidents
    • Develop strategies to prevent and de-escalate challenging & aggressive behaviour
    • Identify strengths and areas for improvement in their working environments
