Explore effective management and support of staff through a structured supervision process grounded in reflective practice.
This course provides space to gain fresh perspectives and practise using approaches, skills and tools to develop supervision agendas and records, respond to complex issues, challenge effectively, and support and motivate staff.
Also available for teams in-house (we come to you).
Course aims
To equip participants with the knowledge to develop a systematic approach to effective supervision
To further develop participants’ skills and confidence to deliver effective supervision
Course objectives
By the end of the course participants will have had opportunities to:
- Explore participants’ knowledge, experience and attitude to supervision, both personal and organisational
- Consider an ‘integrated approach’ to supervision
- Agree some basic principles in delivering effective supervision
- Create a checklist of items that should be included on a supervision agenda
- Consider the range of skills, qualities and roles involved in supervision
- Explore and practice ideas to improve effective challenging and intervention in situations that arise within supervision sessions
- Be introduced to a range of theoretical frameworks

All courses take place at accessible venues in Bristol.
If for any reason the course cannot be delivered face-to-face, we will take a flexible and responsive approach to keep people learning – which will include delivering the training on the same day as a live interactive online session, or transferring bookings to the next available dates.
