Course overview: 

An interactive half day to review and explore effective meetings for both new and more established facilitators. Develop confidence to become more comfortable in the facilitator role; explore key issues such as psychological safety, clarity of purpose  group dynamics & conflicts; and indentify standard good practice and creative approaches.

 

Aim(s):

To develop confidence and techniques for facilitating effective meetings.

 

Objectives: 

By the end of the course participants will have had opportunities to:

  • Explore past and present meeting experiences
  • Discuss psychological safety, building trust and how we can create this within groups and meetings
  • Explore facilitation techniques and models, reflecting on your own facilitation style
  • Identify standard good practice
  • Share ideas for further creative approaches

Your trainer(s)

Rowan Miller

Rowan worked in drug and alcohol services for 18 years as a practitioner and manager in both young people and adult services. She continued to develop as a manager & leader in a number of roles including Deputy Regional Alcohol Manager for the South West, Development Manager for The Training Exchange and CEO of Somerset and Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Support (SARSAS).

 

Rowan was then Head of Funding across the South West region for the National Lottery Community Fund and led the England response to the women and girls sector. Rowan is now the Development Director for eight regional Eating Disorder Charities in the UK.

 

Rowan has been delivering training for 25 years and is a trained supervisor, qualified coach and has completed the leadership and facilitation course with Schumacher College “Co-creating the emerging future”.
