Advanced children's safeguarding

Designed to develop the skills and knowledge of those staff members who have greater responsibilities for Children’s Safeguarding within their settings to perform their role.
This is a 1 day in-house course (we come to you).
Designed to develop the skills and knowledge of those who have greater responsibilities for Children’s Safeguarding within their settings, including those with Designated Safeguarding Lead status, this course will clarify roles and responsibilities and refresh key legislation and guidance to reinforce organisational safeguarding policy and procedures.
Participants will learn how to make an effective child protection and early intervention referral and how to escalate concerns appropriately; alongside understanding what is likely to happen following a referral to children’s social care and the role their setting will have in the child protection process.
There will be opportunity to discuss how to appropriately manage an allegation made to a staff member, and how to support and manage the safeguarding skills of staff and volunteers, including the implementation of a code of conduct.
Also currently available (online for teams).

"Going over statutory safeguarding and Early Help etc. CAF and SAF and child in need clarity. Awareness of thresholds document, working together to SGC in education and so many Bristol specific examples."
"Really specific (to LA) and useful training – I’ve had lots of general safeguarding training that’s not nearly as useful!"
"It was great that it was advanced – skipping the normal stuff covered in basics training. Good to know up to date policies, acts, laws and guidance’s."
"Probably the best and most interactive safeguarding training I’ve had. It was very helpful."
