Develop and improve assessment and care planning skills and increase client engagement to improve treatment outcomes.

This is a 1 day in-house course (we come to you).

This course supports workers to understand the function of triage and assessment processes and how they link with a clear model of effective care planning.

Matching client needs to integrated treatment pathways; participants identify key factors in effective assessment, practise skills for engaging clients and deepening the assessment process, and explore approaches to developing care plans based on the natural motivation of the client to improve treatment outcomes.

    To improve the assessment and care planning skills of practitioners to improve treatment outcomes

    Course objectives

    By the end of the course participants will have had opportunities to:

    • Define the clinical features of addiction and dependence
    • Understand treatment length and prognosis
    • Identify key elements of effective assessment
    • Use care planning tools based on the natural motivation of the client
